2023 Job Seeker Trends

We know that job searching has been an arduous and demoralizing process for many job seekers given the downturn and uncertainty in the market. We encourage you to apply now in advance of the predicted new year applicant onslaught. Currently, there are over 1300 openings across our portfolio. While we expect hundreds of new roles by the end of January (historically this has been a trend), we also know that the candidate pool will also increase significantly (and become more competitive) as folks make career resolutions for the new year.

As a seed stage investor, we know we are biased but we think this is an amazing time to join an early stage, recently funded startup. Consider this: Joining an early startup is now less risky than it used to be. Job security is becoming more uncertain — even for established, later stage companies. With a recently funded seed or Series A company, you’ve got a startup with fresh runway. Unlike many of the brand names we all know, these early stage companies will not be over-hiring (and thus then course correcting later). Whether you are a serial startupper or considering your first tour of duty in a startup, we invite you to consider our promising early stage companies.
